One night only! If you missed it, well, sucks. You missed the best medicine of your life: laughter and cheeky sensuality. “They’re polite… but not tonight.” Think of Who’s Line is it Anyway? Imagine it mixed with the RedGreen show. Add a dash of Flight of the Concords, and you get three hilarious hosers hailing from the Great White North. Their combined experience spans decades with noteworthy stage performances worldwide. Not only are they a traveling troop, but you might have seen them on your favorite streaming networks. Canadian Steam male review parody and comedy show was a hoot. It really showed us that a sense of humor is the sexiest quality ever. Period.

The WICA Theater came alive with raucous characters throughout the night. The Canadian Steam threesome acted out various scenarios with a little help from the audience. The show started off with some classic Canadian bangers as the threesome burst into a dorky dance to ignite their opening skit. With a few origin stories from our performers, the audience left with side aches and a little education on Canadian providences. You know… Vancouver is a cleaner Seattle. New Finland is basically ice. Ontario is one part desolate plains (Winnipeg) and one part melting pot of culture (Toronto).
The comedy team of Ben, Jonesie, and Ted were laugh out loud and had me doubling over. The theater was juxtaposed with varying levels of demographics. Young and old, prudent and extravagant, and Bob sitting in the front row, who got the brunt of many jokes. While various groups, held up score cards for each performance, a saintly older lady took points down to add up the culminating shows “sexiness” and who would ultimately be dubbed the Sexiest Canadian. Whidbey Island proved to be a tough crowd to these salacious lumberjacks constantly hollering and sparing no point expense. A few audience members were wined up so much they almost stole the show, whoops!
Between various skit breaks, a dance break ensued to Canadian hits like Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” and Shania Twain’s “Feel Like a Woman.“ But no Avril Lavigne to my surprise. Ben and Ted even accompanied Jonesie on a skit through song enacting a Jersey girl moving across country to our coveted island. Throughout the night audience members all pitched in various Whidbey Island themes, job descriptions, and bizarre personalities. The Steam trio showcase various improve styles from generative to reactive, culminating in an “intervention” style guessing game involving sponge-licking with gooey ducks. How apropos to our landscape.
If you missed this gem of comedic proportions, you still have an opportunity to catch Canadian Steam on their Washington tour. They’re not going far, you just have to hop on the ferry to Everett for their next show on March 28th or Spokane on March 29th. This is a new show so stir up your sexual frustrations and leave a review for our eh-rotic canucks. Let’s help them spread HVP (hilarious variety performance) across the world.
Now back to the important matters of who won Sexiest Canadian of the night? … I guess you’ll never know.
